I hope you were able to join us for the school wide Fun in the Sun Math and Science Night. If you were not able to attend your child brought home a bag of math games with materials. Please use these to play over the summer so keep those math skills at peek and ready for 2nd grade.
Please join us on December 6th at 6pm for an amazing night of fun and reading. We have so much prepared and can't wait to see you!
What a night!! Thank you for your effort to come tonight. I loved getting to see you all again! I just love, love, love teaching your little ones. Thank you for sharing with me. It has been a busy year so far and time is going so fast. Enjoy your Thanksgiving and time with your family. Thank you again for coming tonight! Mark your calendar for Dec. 6th. We will be having a Family Reading Night and I hope to see you then.
A huge thanks to all of you who came to the zoo. Your help is greatly appreciated. What a beautiful day and it wasn't crowded. We had a GREAT time!! Your help and participation is amazing! I just love you all
We have completed a successful 1st 6 weeks. In math we have learned to order numbers, add and subtract using objects and pictures. During the 2nd 6 weeks we will continue with the same skills, but pick it up a notch with ordering numbers to 50 and mixing addition and subtraction with some new strategies to solve. These will include counting on, using the number-line and other strategies to solve. If your child is struggling I will be pulling them for tutoring, but please don't hesitate if you need more information to work with your child at home. Your child's success is my biggest goal!
Thanksgiving and Veteran's Day are around the corner. In Social Studies we will be preparing many activities. Be looking for upcoming events. We always love your participation. I am looking for a very large box I can decorate as a voting booth. If you have one to donate please let me know.
In science we will be studying the weather and seasons. What a perfect time of the year to see and feel the seasons change as we begin wearing our long sleeves and coats.
Thanks for all you do. I know many of you are busy at home helping your little ones so they can come to class prepared to learn and grow. i appreciate all you do!!
Recess doesn't seem long enough, but I am sure we have not escaped the heat yet! The kids know our routines and we are able to accomplish so much during the day. We are loving our Kim Sutton music as we learn about adding with zero. We are also learning to add using "part, part, whole" and using our manipulatives. Look for games in your child's Bee Binder that you can play at home. They love the games so much they wanted to bring them home :-) It's always more fun when you don't realize you are learning.
Well, we made it past hump day and we are still kicking! Thank you so much for helping us get off to such a great start! You will see that I rely on us being a team and the partnership we create will help our kids soar.
Thank you to a few moms who have already volunteered their time to help me prepare a few things for our class.
If you have any ideas please share or if your job allows you to come into the classroom and present let me know. I will look to see where your presentation fits in with what we study. The kids would be thrilled to learn from you! We will be learning about community helper soon so don't be shy!
Thank you all for coming out tonight. Thank goodness the weather held off. I just love meeting all of you and your little ones. I am even more excited now to begin school, and see all of those cute faces again. Lots of fun things coming soon. I just love the partnership between a teacher and parent, so if you have anything to share, please feel free. Thank you again for coming by and your patience as I made my way around to meet you all.
